Business success story: Once just a pizza delivery boy, today he drives a BMW, has multiple franchises and an Australian citizenship

A career does not always move in the direction a person first plans. Sometimes, an unexpected job can become the starting point for something much bigger, especially after moving to a new country and having to find a way forward. A story shared by entrepreneur Vineeth K on X shows how a man who went to Australia as a student eventually moved from delivering pizzas to running multiple franchises and building a life for his family there.

Vineeth shared the story of his extended brother-in-law, who moved to Australia 11 years ago to study. According to his post, the man could not get a job in his field because he was “Not merit”. He instead took up a full-time job at a pizza shop.

Rather than waiting for work in his original field, he started working and delivering pizzas. Three years later, he got an opportunity to enter the business, with Vineeth saying he took up a pizza franchise through a partnership and with some funds.

From pizza delivery to running franchises

The pizza shop job eventually became more than just a way to earn a living. The man moved into franchise ownership and began building his own business.

Vineeth said he got married during COVID and later took his wife to Australia. The post does not mention the name of the pizza brand, the amount invested in the franchise or the man's original course and field of study.

The story then moves ahead to 2026, when the results of those years of work look very different.

Two children, three franchises and a BMW

According to Vineeth, the man now has two children, owns a house and has a BMW car. He also owns three pizza franchises.

His achievements have extended to his family as well. Vineeth said he flew his parents to Australia and built a house in Hyderabad.

The latest milestone came this week when the man and his family received Australian citizenship.

“My extended brother-in-law received Australian citizenship for himself and his family this week,” Vineeth wrote on X.

Looking back at how the journey began, Vineeth highlighted the work his brother-in-law had put in during his early years in Australia.

Stating that the man worked very hard, he wrote, “Seeing this kind of journey and success is really infectious,” he wrote.

Netizens have different views on the journey

The post attracted a large number of reactions, with some users focusing on the idea that no honest job should be considered beneath someone.

“Dignity of Labour,” one user commented. Another user described such journeys as common among hardworking immigrants, writing: “Story of every other hard working no BS responsible immigrant. Good for him and his family”.

There were also people who felt the story needed more context. Some commenters questioned whether the house and BMW were financed through loans, while others pointed out that owning assets does not necessarily reveal a person's complete financial position.

The use of the word “merit” in Vineeth's original post also drew attention. One commenter directly questioned it, asking, “Not merit. As in?” Another said, “You don’t need to highlight no merit thing. It’s totally fine to deliver, pizzas and be successful in life.”
