Streaming details of Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata
After its theatrical run, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is heading to ZEE5 for its OTT premiere. The film is scheduled to begin streaming on August 14, 2026, giving audiences another opportunity to watch the Kangana Ranaut-starrer online during the Independence Day weekend. The movie first arrived in theatres on June 12 and received favourable reviews, although it did not make a strong impact at the box office.Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is inspired by the real events of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Instead of focusing entirely on the attackers or the security forces, the film tells the story from inside Cama and Albless Hospital, where doctors, nurses and other hospital workers were caught in the middle of the crisis.
The film talks about how ordinary employees were forced to make extraordinary choices as the attacks unfolded around them. Nurses, ward boys, cleaners, security personnel and other staff members continued to look after patients despite the threat to their own lives.
The story is built around the idea that courage does not always come from people carrying weapons or wearing uniforms. Sometimes, it comes from people simply refusing to abandon those who depend on them.
Kangana Ranaut plays the lead role and is also one of the producers of the film. The cast also includes Girija Oak and Smita Tambe, among others.
Kangana Ranaut on the film's message
For Kangana, the film was an opportunity to bring attention to people whose actions during the attacks received far less attention than some of the more widely known stories from 26/11.In a statement about the film, she described Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata as a story that deserved to be told, particularly because it focuses on healthcare workers who stood between terror and the people they were trying to save.
She also said that the decision to release the film around Independence Day adds another meaning to its story. According to Kangana,
"Some stories choose you because they deserve to be told. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is one such film. As both an actor and producer, it was incredibly important for me to bring to life the untold stories of the healthcare workers who stood fearlessly between terror and humanity during the 26/11 attacks. Their courage wasn't driven by recognition, but by an unwavering sense of duty and compassion.”
The film was released theatrically on June 12, 2026. While its box-office performance was modest, its OTT release gives it a chance to reach viewers who may have missed it in cinemas.
Written and directed by Manoj Tapadia, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata is produced by PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films and other production partners. Stay tuned!
