Salman Khan seems to have prompted Pakistani RJ Dr Ejaz Waris to issue a public apology to Katrina Kaif. For those still under a rock, Waris made an insensitive comment on Katrina’s post-pregnancy weight gain. The actress, who welcomed her son, Vihaan, with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal, in November last year, recently attended Ambani’s Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, where her postpartum weight gain became a topic of discussion on the internet. When her physical appearance sparked incessant trolling from naysayers, Salman came out in support of Katrina at a recent episode of Bigg Boss 20, strongly criticising body-shaming and age-shaming.

Pakistani RJ apologises to Katrina Kaif for body-shaming remark

Days after Salman’s unabashed Bigg Boss stint, Ejaz Waris dropped a video on Instagram, attaching the particular clip of Salman Khan defending Katrina Kaif along with it.

‘Sorry Katrina Kaif’, Ejaz wrote at the beginning of his note before admitting that he was sincerely apologising to the actress from the bottom of his heart for his recent remarks. ‘ After Salman Khan mentioned yesterday on Bigg Boss, I reflected and realised that my words may have hurt Katrina and many of her fans,’ he noted.


Ejaz confessed that body-shaming someone was never his intention. Apart from Katrina Kaif, he also extended his apologies to Salman Khan and everyone else who found his tone-deaf remark offensive. ‘Sometimes words come out wrong, and I genuinely regret mine,’ he finished his note.

Speaking about the matter, Ejaz explained that watching Salman Khan address his remarks on Bigg Boss made him reconsider what he had said about Katrina. He acknowledged that he should not have made those comments and said he holds both Salman and Katrina in high regard as a fan.

Ejaz further clarified that his remarks came out impulsively while recording the video, as he had intended to add a light joke to make the content more engaging. However, he recognised that his words had upset many people and expressed regret over the impact of his comments.

The RJ also revealed that the widespread criticism had left him feeling deeply troubled. He said he was unbothered by accusations that he had backed down following the backlash, maintaining that he was confident in himself and sincerely sorry for his remarks. He further praised Katrina, describing her as one of India’s biggest stars.
