India wins 16 medals at Asian U23 Athletics Championships 2026

India finished the Asian U23 Athletics Championships 2026 with an impressive haul of 16 medals, comprising three gold, four silver and nine bronze medals. The inaugural edition of the U23 continental meet was held from July 9 to 12 and featured close to 50 Indian athletes competing across track and field events.

India's relay teams played a major role in the medal tally, accounting for four medals. The country won gold in both the mixed 4x400m and women's 4x400m relays, while the men's 4x400m and women's 4x100m relay teams secured silver medals.

Sangle emerged as India's most successful athlete at the championships, returning home with three medals. According to Olympics.com, she won gold medals in the mixed 4x400m and women's 4x400m relays and also claimed bronze in the 400m hurdles.

Who is Shravani Sachin Sangle?

Born on November 16, 2005, Sangle is a 20-year-old Indian track athlete who has been making her mark across sprint and relay events. She recorded several notable performances in July 2026. According to data from the World Athletics website, she clocked 58.09 seconds in the 400m hurdles on July 11 and recorded 54.42 seconds in the 400m.


She also contributed to India's strong relay performances, helping the mixed 4x400m team record 3:18.64 on July 9 and the women's 4x400m team finish in 3:33.62 on July 12.
