72nd National Film Awards: Yami Gautam’s Article 370 wins Best Feature Film, Kartik Aaryan takes home Best Actor award. Check full winner list

The 72nd National Film Awards was held at Ekta Nagar (formerly Kevadia), Gujarat, against the backdrop of the Statue of Unity on September 22. The star-studded gala honoured the achievements in Indian cinema for the year 2024. This is the first time the prestigious award ceremony took place outside Delhi. While the winners were announced this year on July 18 by the chairpersons of the 3 juries, the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, officially presented the awards to the recipients today. The ceremony went live for viewers at 3 pm on DD National’s YouTube channel.

Among the winners, Yami Gautam’s Article 370, a political action thriller, emerged as the biggest winner, taking home the Best Feature Film award. Yami, on the other hand, lifted the Best Actress award. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan bagged the Best Actor award for his film Chandu Champion, based on the real-life story of Murlikant Petkar, India's first individual gold medalist at the Paralympic Games. Sharing the Best Actor honour with Kartik was Mammootty for the Malayalam-language period folk horror Bramayugam. Here is the full list of winners.
