She is in her 40s, yet her skin is like porcelain and free from wrinkles. In a viral video, beauty influencer Sushmita Prasad reveals how she had flawless skin without acne scars, wrinkles and dull skin in her 40s. In a video, she shared some food she stopped eating to improve her skin.

Very Oily Junk Food

She explained that eating pily, junk food makes her skin look dull. Fried and highly processed foods are often rich in unhealthy fats, refined carbohydrates, and excess sugar, which may increase inflammation in the body. This inflammation can stimulate oil (sebum) production, making pores more likely to become clogged with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, leading to acne breakouts in some people.

Too Much Sugar

She said she completely avoids sugar in her diet, but maybe once in a week she has sweet desserts. Extremely high blood sugar levels stimulate oil production and causes acne breakouts. Sugary foods also results in a process called glycation, in which sugar molecules attach to collagen proteins making them less flexible. This causes more wrinkling in skin.

Extremely Spicy Food

Sushmita noted how her skin became more irritated and suffered acne breakout when she had more spicy food. According to Ruth Yeilding, having spicy food can and does affect food. When you eat anything spicy, this will activate the sebaceous glands and produce more oil, underneath the skin layers.

Eating Processed Food

Eating your processed food inevitably creates chronic inflammation and triggers acne formation. These foods are high in carbohydrates, unhealthy fats and sugars which increase oil production that clog pores. High sodium levels can contribute to water retention, making the skin appear puffy.

Too Much Dairy

Research led by Christian R. Juhl at the University of Copenhagen suggests that greater consumption of dairy products may be associated with an increased likelihood of acne and other skin blemishes in some individuals. While dairy does not cause acne in everyone, certain components of milk may contribute to breakouts in people who are more susceptible. These include casein, the primary milk protein, lactose, the natural sugar found in milk, and naturally occurring or added hormones that may influence hormonal activity linked to oil production.

Cow's milk naturally contains hormones, and in some farming systems additional hormones may be used to support milk production where permitted. Some researchers believe that these hormones, along with other bioactive compounds in milk, may influence hormone signaling in the body of certain individuals. This can increase sebum (skin oil) production, making pores more likely to become blocked with oil and dead skin cells. When clogged pores combine with acne-causing bacteria and inflammation, the risk of breakouts may rise. However, the relationship between dairy and acne is complex, and not everyone experiences skin problems after consuming milk

According to reports by Data For India, half of all adults consuming dairy daily and roughly three out of four (75.8%) have dairy products on a daily basis.

Caffeine Addiction

She stated that caffeine addiction and very little sleep can be a lethal combination that affects skin and makes it appear dull.
