New Delhi: The CBI has arrested five officials of the North Western Railway (NWR) from Rajasthan's Jaipur and Bikaner in separate cases of bribery and recovered Rs 2 lakh from them, an official spokesperson said on Friday.

The arrests were made on Thursday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson said in a statement.

The agency alleged that the office superintendent at NWR, Jaipur, was allegedly indulging in corrupt practices, accepting bribes for processing and passing of bills for the work being executed by a Navi Mumbai-based company.


"During the trap operation, office superintendent, NWR, Jaipur; assistant financial advisor, NWR, Jaipur; Sr. SO, NWR, Jaipur; and an employee of the Navi Mumbai-based private company were arrested on 13.08.2026 and a bribe amount of Rs 1.46 lakh was recovered," the spokesperson said.

The agency also seized Rs 9 lakh during its searches in connection with the case in Jaipur and Delhi.

In a separate case, the agency has arrested a senior section officer and an account assistant of NWR, Bikaner, and an employee of a Kolkata-based private company. A bribe amount of Rs 1.20 lakh was also recovered, the CBI said.

It alleged that the officers took the bribe for quick processing of the company's bills.
