Mumbai: Tata Group's retailer Trent reported a 22% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹518 crore in the June quarter, helped by strong growth across its fashion brands Westside and Zudio, even as consumer demand remained uneven amid macroeconomic pressures.

Revenue climbed 18% to ₹5,755 crore in the same period, with emerging categories including beauty and personal care, innerwear and footwear contributing 21% to the topline. Westside's e-commerce channel contributed over 6% to the brand's revenue, supporting its omnichannel strategy.

Trent's Ebitda rose 33% in the quarter, to ₹848 crore.

"While external market conditions may influence demand patterns from time to time, our performance is fundamentally anchored in our ability to offer relevant and aspirational products," chairman Noel Tata said in a statement.

The company continued its strategy of aggressive physical expansion, entering nine new cities during the quarter to take its network to 1,300 stores in 330 cities, including three in the UAE. Trent added one Westside and 22 Zudio stores last quarter, including one in the UAE, while consolidating three Zudio stores.

The retailer also expanded its food and grocery footprint, adding five new Star stores in the period, taking its total to 86 outlets in 12 cities. Trent said its focus remains on private labels to strengthen Star's financial profile, with its own brands presently contributing upwards of 73% of the business' revenue.

"In our Star business, we will continue to apply Trent's playbook and invest in expanding our footprint, with a focus on building scale and strengthening our position across select markets," Tata added.
