Maneck Mulla, Ameet Naik and Neil Mandevia form real estate-focused MNM Partners alliance
Three distinguished law firms have announced the formation of MNM Partners, a new alliance dedicated to addressing legal aspects of real estate, infrastructure, and dispute resolution. This innovative partnership enables the founding firms to keep...
Unlike a law firm merger, the alliance will operate alongside the founders' existing firms, allowing each to continue running their independent practices while jointly pursuing mandates requiring expertise across multiple disciplines.
The move comes as India's legal market becomes increasingly competitive, with clients seeking advice spanning litigation, transactions, governance and succession planning, particularly in sectors such as real estate and family-owned businesses.
The tripartite agreement between the three law firms comes at a time when Mumbai's real estate market is witnessing greater institutionalisation, increasing the need for legal expertise across transactions, disputes, regulatory matters and succession planning.
According to a recent KPMG-FICCI study, over $16 billion has been unlocked through REITs and InvITs. India's real estate market is projected to reach $1 trillion by 2030 from $650 billion in 2025.
The founders, each with more than 25 years of experience, said the alliance was designed to combine complementary expertise while allowing each firm to continue operating independently.
"This is a coming together of three established practices with the potential to evolve into a multidisciplinary institution in the years ahead," they said in a joint statement.
They said the alliance would provide clients with access to a broader range of expertise while preserving the relationships and domain knowledge each founder has built over decades.
Mulla advises corporates, high-net-worth individuals and family offices, Naik is a commercial litigator representing companies and promoters in disputes, while Mandevia focuses on real estate transactions and related litigation.
The alliance was advised by Legal League Consulting. A joint venture between Naik Naik & Co. and Anand and Anand for media, entertainment and intellectual property work in Mumbai will continue independently of MNM Partners.
