YRF launches Raah Records to nurture India's next generation of original music talent

Yash Raj Films (YRF) has announced the launch of Raah Records, a new record label and artist incubator aimed at discovering, developing and supporting original artists in India.

The label will make its debut with "Jaadugari", the first release by singer-songwriter Aman, which will be available across major audio streaming platforms on August 5. According to YRF, the track follows a year of creative collaboration between the artist and the label.

Positioned as a long-term artist development platform rather than a conventional release-driven music label, Raah Records will focus on songwriting, production, creative direction, audience growth and strategic partnerships for emerging musicians.


Announcing the launch, Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, said the initiative marks a strategic expansion of YRF's music business beyond film soundtracks into the original music space.

"For over five decades, we have believed in identifying exceptional talent and creating platforms where creativity can thrive. As India's independent music ecosystem enters a defining phase of growth, we believe great artists need more than distribution—they need belief, time and long-term creative partnership," Widhani said.

Raah Records will be led by Nakul Sharma, Senior General Manager – Music Management at YRF, who has been instrumental in shaping the label's artist development philosophy and incubator model.

"Raah Records was built on a belief that artists need time, trust and the space to grow into who they already are. Our role is to stand beside them throughout that journey, helping them build lasting careers without losing what makes them unique," Sharma said.

Founded in 1970 by the late Yash Chopra, Yash Raj Films is among India's leading entertainment studios. With Raah Records, the company aims to expand its presence in the country's growing independent music ecosystem by investing in original artists and long-term creative development. More artist signings and original releases are expected in the coming months.
