Nielsen has upgraded its Streaming Content Ratings (SCR) service, allowing clients to access streaming viewership data daily instead of weekly.

Under the new system, data will be delivered every business day for viewing that took place two days earlier. This reduces data delivery time by up to 80% and brings streaming measurement closer to the reporting speed of linear television.

Brian Fuhrer, Nielsen’s Senior Vice President of Product Strategy and Thought Leadership, said the update was one of the company’s most significant improvements to SCR since its launch in 2017. He added that faster audience data would help clients respond more quickly to changes in the media industry.

Nielsen is also speeding up its weekly Streaming Top 10 reports, reducing the reporting delay by half. The first report under the new schedule was published on September 17, 2026, covering viewing from August 31 to September 6.

The changes are part of Nielsen’s broader efforts to improve audience measurement. Recent developments include expanded co-viewing data for television, the adoption of Big Data + Panel measurement, first-party data integration for live streaming, and expanded out-of-home measurement.
