Mumbai: Ahmedabad-based steel products manufacturer Rhetan TMT on Wednesday said it has set up a captive solar project of 1 MW capacity to optimise energy costs and support more efficient manufacturing operations.

The project is expected to commence power production by the first week of August 2026, the company said in a statement.

The company said it has secured a BIS certification for manufacturing of premium TMT grades, and looks to enter into government & PSU infrastructure projects with this achievement.


Shalin Shah, Managing Director of Rhetan TMT Limited, said, "The BIS certification is an important step that expands our presence in the premium steel segment, while the commissioning of our captive solar power project will help us build a more efficient manufacturing ecosystem."
