The event is path breaking and displays a level of confidence and values which places Indian industry at an altogether new level.

He added " CII admires the courage of the leadership in occupying centre stage in the unfolding inter- dependent ecosystem."

Corus adds prestige to all Indians: Lord Paul
NRI industrialist, Lord Swraj Paul hailed the acquisition of Corus by India's Tata Steel, and said it adds "prestige to all of us Indians" and congratulated Ratan Tata on his vision and foresight. "I am sure both parties have a lot to contribute to each other and it will be a very strong combined company," he said.
Lord Paul, Britain's Ambassador for Overseas Business said that Tata would enjoy running the Anglo-Dutch company. "I wish them all the best and a great welcome to Tata in the heart of British industry.���
Tata-Corus deal sign of India's economic strength: Nath
Commerce and Industry Minister, Kamal Nath on Wednesday said the Tata's acquisition of Corus was a sign of India's economic strength. "The Tata's win reflects India's economic and fundamental strength," the minister said. Nath had earlier said that the corporate deals should always be determined by business forces taking into account the best corporate practices. He stated that the governments should not have much role in these business deals.

Nath had been vocally supportive of cross border merger and acquisitions, including the Arcelor-Mittal and Vodafone. He enjoys a good rapport with CEOs of host Fortune 500 companies.
