The company, which has served the Indian market for more than 21 years through local partner Leaptech Corporation, has now set up DEPRAG India Pvt Ltd as its direct presence in the country. The company said it is targeting 25% annual growth and double-digit million-euro revenue in India over the next five years.
The investment will go towards local assembly, engineering and technical support, with the initial focus on industrial screwdriving and fastening systems, component-feeding equipment and assembly automation, it said.
“India has been an important market for DEPRAG for more than two decades, and we now see the scale required to establish a direct and lasting presence,” said Dr Erik Hallmann, CEO, DEPRAG SCHULZ. “Our planned investment will allow us to bring engineering support closer to customers, begin selected assembly work in India and build a local team.”
DEPRAG said local assembly will help shorten delivery times for selected systems and allow the company to adapt machines to individual customer requirements. The first phase will focus on building the local team and identifying systems that can be assembled in India.
The company’s Indian customer base spans automotive, electronics, electric mobility and other manufacturing sectors. Its portfolio includes fastening systems, component-feeding equipment, assembly automation, pneumatic tools and software used in industrial production.
“The decision to invest and assemble selected systems locally is a significant step beyond establishing a sales office,” said VP Sreejeev, director, DEPRAG India. “Indian manufacturers increasingly need faster engineering support and machines adapted to their products, factory layouts and production volumes.”
The company said its India expansion comes as production capacity grows across sectors such as automobiles, electronics and electric mobility, increasing demand for automated and repeatable assembly processes.
