Pidilite’s consolidated net profit up by more than 30% in June quarter

The maker of ‘Fevicol’ adhesive on Tuesday said its June-quarter revenue from operations increased by more than 21% year-on-year (y-o-y) to Rs 4,551.55 crore, while earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) jumped by nearly 27% y-o-y to Rs 1,194 crore. The bottom-line for the quarter stood at Rs 883.51 crore.
Sales volume for the period grew by more than 11% y-o-y.
The company reported its earnings during market hours.
During the quarter, the Mumbai-headquartered company implemented price hikes across all its categories to offset the increase in input costs.
Although the company’s gross margin fell by 70 basis points to 53.3% due to the inflationary impact of the West Asia crisis, its EBITDA margin improved by 120 basis points y-o-y to 26.3%.
In its consumer and bazaar segment, Pidilite recorded 22.5% growth in revenue, with underlying volume growth at 12.2%, while in the business-to-business segment, its revenue grew by 16%, with a volume growth of 7.3%.
Managing director Sudhanshu Vats said disciplined execution enabled the company to “manage volatility effectively, balancing investments in brand building, innovation, people and supply chain capabilities with prudent cost management”.
“We continue to monitor external factors such as raw material inflation, freight costs and global supply chain disruptions, and stay confident that our proactive measures will mitigate risks while sustaining growth momentum,” he said.
On Tuesday, the company’s shares closed 0.5% down on the BSE at Rs 1,620.
