TATA Starbucks plans to expand its footprint across metropolitan markets as well as emerging high-growth cities, as it continues to strengthen its presence in one of its fastest-growing global markets.

The announcement came as the company on Thursday inaugurated its first Starbucks Reserve store in South India, taking the total number of Reserve stores in the country to six. The premium-format coffeehouses are now spread across three locations in Delhi-NCR and one each in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.

"We continue to see opportunities across both established metropolitan markets and emerging high-growth cities. Our focus remains on expanding thoughtfully while ensuring every new coffeehouse delivers the Starbucks Experience our customers expect," TATA Starbucks CEO Sushant Dash told PTI.

A 50:50 joint venture between Starbucks Coffee Company and Tata Consumer Products, TATA Starbucks entered the Indian market in 2012. The company now operates more than 500 stores across over 80 cities, with India emerging as one of Starbucks' fastest-growing markets globally.

Dash said India remains a strategic growth market for the company, which is focused on "thoughtful, long-term expansion" by opening coffeehouses in the right locations and formats.

He added that as customer preferences evolve, the company will continue investing in differentiated coffee experiences, including Starbucks Reserve stores, while expanding its nationwide footprint.

According to Tata Consumer Products' Q1 FY27 earnings report, TATA Starbucks posted an 11% year-on-year revenue growth, supported by strong same-store sales.

The company currently employs around 4,300 people in India and remains focused on creating opportunities for learning, growth and career development, Dash said.
