Mumbai: Britannia Industries reported a 14% increase in net profit for the June quarter, helped by stronger revenue growth, improved momentum across key categories and gains from faster expansion in e-commerce and general trade channels.

The biscuit maker's sales rose 8% year-on-year to ₹5,000 crore in the quarter ended June, while net profit increased to ₹591 crore. Profit growth outpaced revenue growth, with the company navigating higher fuel and shipping costs triggered by the West Asia conflict, managing director Rakshit Hargave said.

"Most key categories saw positive sequential momentum as we exited the quarter with a mid-teens revenue growth, anchored by rapid scaling in e-commerce and robust growth in General Trade," he said.

Britannia said its international business recovered sequentially during the quarter as supply chain constraints began easing towards the end of the period. However, the company continues to monitor geopolitical risks in West Asia and volatility in crude oil prices for potential impact on input costs and overseas operations.

"We will remain agile in our actions to deliver healthy, sustainable revenue growth amidst an improving domestic demand environment, driven by sharp innovation, strong brand investments, and disciplined margin management," Hargave added.
