JSW MG Motor India posts highest-ever monthly wholesales in July, dispatches rise 22% to 8,158 units

JSW MG Motor India on Saturday reported a 22 per cent year-on-year rise in dispatches to dealers at 8,158 units in July, its highest-ever monthly wholesale figure, as the automaker's electric vehicle push continued to drive growth.

The new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio recorded its highest-ever wholesale volumes in July 2026, contributing more than 80 per cent of the company's total sales, JSW MG Motor India said in a statement.

"This strong performance, coupled with another month of robust retail sales, demonstrates the strength of our diverse portfolio and our ability to meet evolving customer aspirations," JSW MG Motor India Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra said.

The July numbers mark the company's third consecutive month of record wholesales. JSW MG Motor India had dispatched 7,568 units in June, then its highest-ever tally, followed by 6,048 units in May. The company's NEV lineup, which includes the Comet EV, Windsor EV, ZS EV, Cyberster and M9, has consistently accounted for a rising share of overall sales through the first half of 2026, even as the automaker expanded its internal combustion engine (ICE) offerings.

The company's ICE portfolio includes the Astor, Hector and the recently launched Majestor, positioned as India's first D+ segment SUV. JSW MG Motor India also introduced a new plug-in hybrid SUV based on the Starlight platform in mid-July, further widening its NEV range.

For the April-June quarter, the company had reported wholesale sales of 19,634 units, a 9.31 per cent year-on-year increase over the same period last year, aided by strong EV demand, lower running costs and geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia that pushed customer preference toward electric mobility.
