Who is Jack Cocchiarella, the 24-year-old YouTuber dating Yassamin Ansari after first interviewing her in 2025?

Former Phoenix Vice Mayor Yassamin Ansari is dating Gen Z YouTuber Jack Cocchiarella. The 24-year-old left-leaning YouTuber, who is 10 years younger than Ansari, first met while interviewing her in spring 2025 and has been seeing each other for the ‘past few months,’ and things are going strong, TMZ reported on Thursday, October 1.

Ansari, who first became friends with Cocchiarella before things turned romantic, declined to discuss her personal life; instead, she pushed back against President Trump’s handling of the Iran war and the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

“I’m not commenting on my personal life, nor is it anyone’s business. Right now, ICE is terrorizing communities across the country with zero accountability, and Trump’s reckless war in Iran continues raging on,” she told the publication. While contacted by the outlet, Cocchiarella also refused to comment on their relationship. Below is what you need to know about Jack Cocchiarella, the Arizona Democrat’s boyfriend.

Who is Jack Cocchiarella?

Cocchiarella, who is originally from Winter Park, Florida, first came into social media’s limelight in 2021 as a student activist at Dartmouth College after challenging conservative figures, including former Rep. Madison Cawthorn, on claims that the 2020 election was rigged.

The sexual allegations

A year later, Cocchiarella faced numerous sexual assault allegations at Dartmouth, according to the Columbia Spectator. That same year, he transferred to Columbia University and earned a political science degree last year, as per his LinkedIn.

He later filed a lawsuit against a former classmate, regarding allegations that he had raped and sexually assaulted women. The lawsuit accused the former classmate named Nathan Kim, of spreading stories online that “Cocchiarella raped and sexually assaulted women” while he was a student at the Ivy League school.

Cocchiarella denied it and claimed Kim started an “online harassment campaign using anonymous accounts” on social media platforms, accusing Cocchiarella of rape. As reported by the New Hampshire Journal in 2023, the case was settled.

On social media

Since then, he has built a substantial online following. On YouTube, there are over 1.6 million subscribers, he also hosts The Jack Cocchiarella Show. He has also interviewed prominent Democrats, including New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
