Who is Ethan Klein?

Ethan Klein is a YouTuber, content creator and podcaster. He is best known for building H3H3 Productions with Hila. The couple launched their YouTube channel in 2011, and it became especially active between 2013 and 2018.

Their satirical videos attracted a large audience. One of their best-known uploads, “VAPE NATION,” has received more than 18 million views.

In late 2016, Ethan and Hila expanded their work by launching the H3 Podcast. The show featured discussions about internet culture and other subjects, along with appearances by celebrities. The podcast later developed several spin-offs, including H3 After Dark and Frenemies.

Frenemies, which Ethan hosted with Trisha Paytas, ended after a public on-air argument between the two. Their disagreement led to further exchanges on social media and breaks from posting online.

Ethan Klein has faced legal battles during his time on YouTube. In 2017 Ethan Klein and his wife Hila won a copyright case on a reaction video because a judge said Ethan Klein’s work was protected by use. Later Ethan Klein dealt with lawsuits that involved Triller and a film financier named Ryan Kavanaugh. In 2025 Ethan Klein’s company sent notices to Twitch streamers who reacted to Ethan Klein’s documentary on Hasan Piker. Ethan Klein also started a defamation suit, against fellow YouTuber iDubbbz. Ethan Klein decided to drop the case after iDubbbz apologized.

Hila said Ethan initially dismissed her concerns before admitting to an affair that she believes lasted more than six months.

“After I dragged these lies from him, he finally admitted he’d been in an affair for over 6 months, the extent of which I’m sure I still don’t know,” she wrote.

She also described trying to manage the separation while caring for their children.

“I am in survival mode, trying to navigate separation, co-parenting, and unthinkable heartbreak,” she said.

Ethan announced the podcast’s indefinite hiatus on Thursday, October 22, but did not give a date for its return.

Why has the H3 Podcast crew spoken out?

In a statement posted on the podcast’s official Instagram account, the crew said its members were “shocked, angry, and heartbroken” after learning about the allegations.

“As soon as we found out, we all agreed: we would not continue working with Ethan involved or profiting in any way,” the team said.

The crew added that it did not yet know what the decision would mean for the show’s future. It also expressed support for Hila, saying, “We’re disgusted by Ethan‘s actions and the hurt he has caused. We all deserved better: Hila, us, and you.”

The podcast’s future remains uncertain as the couple’s separation and the crew’s announcement put the long-running project in doubt.
