Who are the Alexander brothers and how did an Australian woman’s lawsuit expose their ‘sex trafficking scheme’ that led to 30-year prison sentences?
The Alexander brothers have been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of sex trafficking and the assault of multiple women, including minors. This grave outcome stemmed from an Australian woman's courageous lawsuit in 2012, whi...

Known as the ‘Alexander brothers,’ the March convictions include Tal Alexander, 40, and twins Oren and Alon Alexander, 39, of Miami, on “multiple federal sex offenses, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking.”
“Alon, Oren, and Tal Alexander are convicted sex traffickers and serial rapists,” US Attorney Jamie McDonald said in a statement.
“The defendants preyed on women and young girls, using drugs and violence to incapacitate them so they could rape them. The defendants did this for years—inflicting unspeakable harm on so many young women. And, for years, the defendants used their careers and social status to conceal the danger they posed,” he added before thanking the “brave victims in this case who came forward to ensure that the defendants can no longer harm others.”

Who are the Alexander brothers and what did they do?
In 2008, Alon went into the family business, and the twins moved to New York to work in real estate. They opened their own brokerage firm in 2022, ‘Official,’ to sell luxury properties to high-end clients, as per marieclaire magazine.
While Alon went into the family business, his brothers Oren and Tal moved to New York in 2008 to work in real estate before opening their own brokerage, Official, in 2022, selling luxury properties to high-end clients.
From 2008 to 2021, the Alexander brothers “worked together and with others” to engage in sex trafficking, sometimes by repeatedly drugging, sexually assaulting, and raping numerous female victims, the prosecutors allege.
“The defendants felt empowered to take whatever they wanted from any woman or girl who agreed to get on a plane, go to a party or sit at their table at a nightclub,” the outlet quoted the attorneys’ statement in a sentencing submission on October 14.
One Australian woman chose to speak up
In December 2024, the Alexander brothers were arrested and charged with federal sex trafficking cases. As per the BBC’s reporting at the time, citing Alon’s lawyer, he is pleading not guilty.
In June that year, real estate news site The Real Deal broke the story that detailed the lawsuits brought against the brothers, which one housing expert told them was the “worst kept secret” in the industry.
Then one Australian woman, Kate Whiteman, chose to speak up against the Alexander brothers, which opened a floodgate, and a dozen more victims came forward. In March 2024, she sued the brothers, accusing them of “forcing her into a car as she was leaving a nightclub in 2012,” per the Independent. Then they drove her to New York’s Long Island, where she was allegedly raped in a mansion.
Whiteman died in late 2025 at the age of 45; her body was found near Sydney, and New South Wales officials have not given a cause of death. However, the agency told The Independent in a statement that police were not investigating Kate Whiteman's death and it was “not being treated as suspicious.”
