FBI director Kash Patel and Alexis Wilkins arrive at the White House ahead of the UFC Freedom 250 on the South Lawn, June 14, 2026, in Washington.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director Kash Patel is engaged to his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, the couple announced in a social media post on Sunday evening (October 4). Wilkins, aged 27, posted a picture of herself standing with Patel, 46, showing off her engagement ring. "Went and got the law involved," she captioned the post.
Patel and Wilkins have been dating since at least 2023, according to the People magazine. She also attended Patel's swearing-in as the head of the FBI in 2025. During a July 2025 appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Wilkins shared that she had met Patel at an event at a friend's place in Nashville, Tennessee.
Patel was sworn in as the ninth director of the FBI in February last year, after being nominated by President Donald Trump. He has been under fire for traveling on government aircraft for trips that apparently have no official purpose, including using an FBI jet to fly to State College in Pennsylvania for a pro wrestling event where Wilkins performed.
Patel has also faced criticism for his handling of investigations into several high-profile cases, including the disappearance of TV host Savannah Guthrie’s mother and the assassination of the rightwing political activist Charlie Kirk.
In November 2025, Patel used SWAT team members as security for Wilkins, which critics said was an abuse of power and misuse of resources.
Wilkins had released her debut album in 2023. Also a political commentator, she has been associated with several conservative groups and writes on her website that she says "honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary." She was a performer at Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of America 250.
She has been a consultant for The American Border Story since May 2025, and a board member of the National Rifle Association since June 2025, according to her profile on LinkedIn. Wilkins has also served as an ambassador for Turning Point USA and as a contributor to The Unity Project.
The news of Patel and Wilkins’ engagement comes just days after a report from MS NOW and the Associated Press said that he commissioned a classified report examining alleged past FBI shortcomings.
