Footage shared by the outlet showed Omar taking to the dance floor as supporters cheered her victory.
Another clip of her victory speech, as shared by RT, showed Omar delivering her victory speech in the Somali language. A white man standing behind her appeared puzzled as she addressed the crowd in the language.
In an X post following her victory, Omar thanked Minnesota for welcoming her family after they arrived as refugees. “Minnesota, thank you for welcoming my family with open arms when we arrived here as refugees. You have stood by me every step of the way. I will never take that for granted. I will always have your back,” she wrote.
Omar's victory, which paved her way to return to the House, marks another term for the Minnesota Democrat, who first entered Congress in 2019 and has since become one of the most prominent progressive voices in the House.
In her long speech earlier after the victory, he launched an attack on the US President for calling him a “bigot.”
