WHAT HAPPENED IN THE PENNSYLVANIA 14-VEHICLE CRASH?
The accident happened around 12:15 PM on Saturday in Haverford Township at the intersection of North Eagle Road and West Chester Pike, reported NBC10 Philadelphia. According to police, the pickup truck started swerving erratically until it hit many cars, crashing into a U-Haul. The accident involved fourteen cars.
According to PEOPLE, the whole incident happened in an area measuring about two miles. The driver of the pickup truck, whose age is given as 60s, was declared dead at the scene. Eight people were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
The accident occurred on Haverford Township Day, which is an annual community festival. There was a large number of police officers around since there was an ongoing event, which enabled them to react promptly.

This video of the frightening crash gained instant attraction online. The footage captured on camera from Havertown Cafe revealed the shocking moment when the pickup truck got airborne and crashed into the parking area of the store. West Chester Pike has been shut down near the location where the crash occurred, but it is now open to traffic.
Police have not publicly released the identity of the driver. NBC10 Philadelphia also reported that officials had not provided further information about the conditions of the eight people hospitalized following the crash.
