Trump stops answering calls himself after midterm losses? Mystery woman screening president’s phone calls identified
Following lackluster midterm elections, President Donald Trump’s phone calls underwent a change, with aide Natalie Harp reportedly screening them. Live coverage revealed a woman answering instead of Trump, catching the eye of many journalists. Thi...

When Dasha Burns of Politico, during the live election coverage, decided to cold call the president, she was greeted by a woman after a few rings. “Hi, may I ask who’s calling?” the mystery woman responded from other side. After identifying herself, Burns was told to wait for a moment. Trump responded after a brief moment of silence, “Hey Dasha, how are you?” and the conversation began.
When asked what happened to the Republican Party’s performance during elections, Trump answered, “I wasn’t on the ballot and we didn’t get the people out, but I wasn’t on the ballot. And if I was on the ballot, we would have won. We would have won it all very easily.”
Burns then pointed out the fact that Trump did tell voters to vote as if he was on the ballot; the president replied, “Yeah. I said,” and added that the voters didn’t agree and they didn’t like the candidates in most cases. Trump also pointed out that he doesn’t blame anyone for the losses the GOP suffered.
As per Andrew Feinberg, the White House correspondent for The Independent, the woman was Natalie Harp, Trump’s executive assistant. In a social media post on Tuesday night, he said, “One sign of how badly things are going at the White House right now?” Adding, “Natalie Harp is screening @realDonaldTrump’s phone calls.”
Kellie Meyer of NewsNation experienced something similar before the election. In a social media post, she revealed, quoting Dasha Burns's phone call, that it was not like that before and she was also greeted by a woman when she tried to call the president.
“Something I noticed in the last 36 hours,” Meyer wrote in that post. “President Trump has a woman screening his calls. Previously he would just answer himself. I called Monday and a woman answered asking who this is. He couldn’t talk. And same thing happened in this live stream with Politico’s @DashaBurns. Another reporter @AndrewFeinberg said it was Natalie Harp.”
Previously not known to many, Natalie Harp has become a talking point in recent times for his specific role at the White House. And controversy erupted after Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff and some reporters raised questions about the 35-year-old’s role in the administration.
In response, White House communications director Steven Cheung slammed the Georgia senator, lobbing insults at Ossoff. “Instead of denigrating hard working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country,” Cheung wrote a day later on X.
