A woman has been arrested and charged after her husband and their child were found dead inside a room at the Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos region of Pennsylvania on Monday (Oct. 12), the Pocono Township Police Department said. The woman allegedly stabbed her husband and three-year-old son to death before attempting to take her own life, ABC News reported citing a criminal complaint.

The woman called 911 after the killings

According to the complaint, Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, called 911 and said that she needed "help dying." She also said that she had knives but they were "not working", as per the complaint.

Officials were called to the lodge in Scotrun, Pennsylvania, shortly after 3 pm on Monday, after the 911 call. When officers entered the room in the resort, they found Harrison with injuries on her body, police said. The officials also found an adult man and the boy, who were both deceased, inside the room. Harrison was then taken to a nearby hospital.

'It wasn't supposed to end like this'

Harrison's husband, Charles Harrison, had multiple stab wounds to his chest. The son, who has been identified in the complaint as T.H., appeared to have one stab wound to his chest.

"Everyday, I work so hard. To be the best person, the best mother, the best wife. It wasn't supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That's what I envisioned since I was a child," she allegedly said while being taken to the hospital, according to the complaint.

The Pocono Township Police Department said in a statement that it was an isolated domestic incident and there was no threat to the resort or the community. The family had checked in to the lodge on September 21 and were due to check out on Tuesday, the complaint said.

A spokesperson for the Great Wolf Lodge also issued a statement, saying: "We are deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room at our resort in the Pocono Mountains."
