China’s Unitree Robotics has come up with a “guardian” robot with the aim of providing solutions in the real world. The Hangzhou-based firm released footage on Wednesday (October 21, 2026) showcasing several capabilities of the robot.

The H2-X Kung Fu Legend Guardian robot can lift a car, can jump off from a decent height, and can protect you from being attacked. In the 1-minute clip released by the company, the robot was seen lifting the front portion of the car to save a trapped victim. The robot even pulled a pedestrian from the path of an oncoming vehicle.

“Powerful performance to serve and guard you, with a maximum endurance of approximately 8 hours. Please use the robot safely and in a friendly manner,” Unitree Robotics wrote on X.

The promotion video clip also showed the robot taking a knife-wielding intruder head-on. The footage offered a glimpse of the strategic and technological shift by the robotics company in its pursuit of practical and real-world uses for its athletic robots.

Unitree initially grabbed eyeballs when the company’s robots hogged the limelight for performing martial arts routines, dances, and somersaults, according to The South China Morning Post.

The H2-X, dubbed “Kung Fu Legend: Guardian," builds on Unitree’s H2 model. The humanoid robot stands 1.8 meters tall and weighs about 70 kg.

The previous model allowed a freedom of 31 degrees and a maximum leg-joint torque of 360 newton metres, the SCMP reported, citing the product description. However, it is pertinent to note that Unitree did not confirm whether the H2-X would also carry these specifications.

The company did claim that a newer model of the robot could operate for about eight hours while standing. But it did not provide any details about the price, and neither did it give any details about its technical specifications. The video ended with a warning against dangerous modifications and unauthorized uses.
