According to BBC News, the Cobb County Police Department confirmed the fatality and said its major crimes unit would investigate. Although authorities have not identified the roller coaster involved, aerial footage captured by news helicopters showed the park's Goliath roller coaster stopped, with workers helping passengers off the ride.
Eyewitness accounts have added another disturbing dimension to the tragedy. The BBC reported that witnesses told local media they saw a man being ejected from the roller coaster, although the news organisation could not independently verify the claims.
Local television station 11Alive quoted a witness who claimed the man fell from the roller coaster onto the roof of a haunted house attraction. However, police have not confirmed whether the man was thrown from the ride or what caused his death.

The exact circumstances surrounding the fatal incident remain unclear. According to news agency AP, authorities have neither confirmed how the person died nor explained what caused the injuries to other visitors."We are deeply saddened by the guest incident at our park today. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with the guest’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are also providing support to the guests and team members affected," a Six Flags Over Georgia spokesperson told the New York Post.
The tragedy comes amid heightened scrutiny of roller coaster safety. Last month, Six Flags Magic Mountain in California announced the retirement of its X2 roller coaster following lawsuits alleging serious brain injuries, reported the news agency.
