A New York City-born social media influencer and content creator was arrested in Columbia after authorities discovered a cache of guns and drugs in her apartment, The New York Post reported, citing officials.
The discovery took place on Monday (October 19, 2026) when the National Police and a judge visited the home of Wendy Durán to serve an asset seizure warrant linked to the recovery of an outstanding rent payment, the Attorney General’s Office said, according to the news outlet.
Upon their arrival, they were quick to spot two 9mm Glocks on a table next to a television in the living room, according to officials.
Following her arrest, the 24-year-old influencer stated that she did not have a permit to possess or carry a firearm. She was placed under arrest as police searched the rest of her Pance home.
During the search, police officers allegedly discovered a US-made 5.56-caliber Colt rifle hidden inside a closet. Along with that, they also found a magazine holding 35 rounds, two holographic sights, and a laser attachment, as reported by The Post.
Officers also confiscated $4,844 in cash, a money-counting machine, two digital scales, a cell phone, two laptops, and drugs.
The influencer pleaded not guilty to manufacturing, trafficking, and carrying firearms and ammunition. She remained in custody at the time of filing of this report.
It is pertinent to mention that she was not charged for possessing drugs. Also, authorities gave no clarity and neither provided specific details on the type of narcotics the influencer allegedly had concealed.
While speaking about the incident and the follow-up arrest, the Attorney General’s Office said, “Investigations are ongoing to determine the content creator’s potential involvement in other criminal acts, as well as the origin and intended destination of the items discovered."
Born in Manhattan, Durán is known as “sociallywendyy” on Instagram. She is also a Colombian citizen. She is known for creating content about brand expansion and has more than 8,000 followers on Instagram. In one of her Instagram posts, she claimed, “I create authentic content that captures attention, builds trusts, and drives results.”
In another post, she shared a video giving a glimpse of her expericebce after moving to Columbia to NYC and how that decision has changed her life. “I moved from NY to Colombia and somehow, this became my life! Being able to do the outdoorsy things that I love any day of the week (and season) is one of my fav parts about living in .,” she wrote in the post.
