New York Crime: Man arrested after woman found dead in city’s Central Park with multiple stab wounds
The New York Police Department (NYPD) has arrested and charged a man after a 63-year-old woman was found dead in New York City's Central Park on Sunday (September 27, 2026). According to police, the woman was pronounced dead after she was found unresponsive, and the suspect was identified as Jonathan Robles, 36.
The NYPD said that the suspect was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. An NYPD spokesperson told ABC News that the identity of the woman and the circumstances of her death were withheld by police pending an autopsy by the New York City Medical Examiner's Office. Police also stated that there was currently no known relationship between the suspect and victim.
According to the NYPD spokesperson, a 911 caller reported finding the body around 9:43 a.m. ET on Sunday. Responding officers found the woman unresponsive with trauma and stab wounds on her body, police said. She was found off a walking trail in the park near East Drive and East 74th Street, according to police. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a married couple was arrested over allegations of shooting and killing their son-in-law near a park in Dublin, California, police announced on Sunday (September 27, 2026).
The incident emerged when a sergeant of the Dublin Police Services noticed a man lying in the parking lot while driving near the Dublin Sports Grounds located at 6700 Dublin Blvd., just before 3:10 p.m. on Saturday (September 26, 2026). FOX2 KTVU reported, citing a police department statement.
The sergeant stopped his vehicle to investigate, and around the same time, Dublin Police Services received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the same area. Further investigation revealed that the man, identified as the man lying in the parking lot, was identified as Jonathan McKinsey, 40, of Dublin. He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.
