Mojang says new dimension Sift to arrive in Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027

Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, has revealed that the Sift will be arriving in Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027. The latest addition will be the game's first new dimension in over 14 years.

When will Sift release?

During Minecraft LIVE in September 2026, it was disclosed that the Sift will also be available for Minecraft Java and Bedrock Edition in 2027. It was previously revealed for the upcoming dungeon crawler Minecraft Dungeons 2.


Mojang has not disclosed much information about the Sift and its functionality during Minecraft LIVE. The company showed a glimpse of its appearance during the stream. It was also announced during Minecraft LIVE that the latest Minecraft dimension will not only be featured in Dungeons II, but it will also be available in Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition next year.

The gamers will also be able to experience the new dimension in Minecraft Dungeons II, which will be arriving on September 29, 2026. In the dungeon crawler, the Sift is characterized as "lovely, lively, and full of souls." It includes regions, such as the Meadow and the Carapace.

It will have an entirely different and colorful new look. It will also boast of new mobs and rules. The Sift joins the Overworld, The Nether and The End as the fourth dimension in the game.
