A massive breach had leaked a huge amount of behind-the-scenes animation files from Cartoon Network. Cartoon Network has been affected by a gigaleak just days after Paramount closed the acquisition of Warner Bros, merging them into Skydance on October 6.

The leaked trove reportedly had over 200 GB of internal material, according to Mashable. The files span decades, and contain shows including, The Amazing World of Gumball, Adventure Time, The Looney Tunes Show, Regular Show, Teen Titans and The Powerpuff Girls among others.

What leaked from Cartoon Network?

The leak is centered on a Google Drive containing production files from several Cartoon Network shows. Mashable gained access to one of the drive’s folders. According to them the folder contained storyboards, backgrounds, digital puppet rigs, and character model sheets.

Several of these character files are EPF files. This is a vector graphics format that lets the graphic be scaled to any size without getting blurry.

The model sheets are reference drawings that show a character from all sides. The sheets help multiple animators draw in the same way. Puppet rigs are characters broken into multiple movable digital pieces. Animators can pose these pieces in software instead of redrawing every frame.

Users on X have also claimed that raw Flash animation source files, Photoshop files and even fonts have been leaked online. The Powerpuff Girls Z, an anime spinoff that was broadcast in other countries, but never in the United States has also been affected.

According to Gizmodo, several X users have claimed that internal assets for over 30 of the channel’s shows have spread all over the internet.

Leak traces back to a X account

According to Mashable, the data breach appears to trace back to an anonymous X account called “totallynotaburner”. The account is based in the US and was created in October 2026.

The leaker has also shared a master Google Doc. The document links to material from even more of Cartoon Networks’ back catalog, which is hosted on a separate file-sharing site. The shows on the Doc include Dexter's Laboratory, Robot Chicken and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Many of these links have already been taken down. The links to the Drive folders are also being struck for copyright infringement as they spread.

Disney suffered similar breach in 2024

Disney’s animation division in 2024 suffered from a similar leak. Several of its shows, including Gravity Falls and The Owl House had their show bibles and other material leaked online. The leaker for that breach has not been identified even now.

The general public rarely gets to see such data. It usually only surfaces in official art books, studio exhibitions or artists’ portfolios, while much of it is never seen at all.
