Katie Zacharia breaks silence after Trump fires her as White House press secretary; says she was honored ‘to work for him’ for five days
Katie Zacharia's brief stint as White House Press Secretary came to an unexpected end after just five days. President Trump noted the intense media focus on her performance, suggesting she might want to reconsider her role. During her first press ...

“President Trump is a kind, wonderful, gracious, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and the most hardworking man,” Zacharia wrote on social media. “I wish more Americans appreciated him. No one will ever make America great the way he has and continues to. It was an honor to work for him,” she added.
However, the 42-year-old did not address what led to her abrupt dismissal after replacing her predecessor, Karolina Levitt, who served the post for over one and a half years.
Trump himself announced Zacharia’s firing on Friday and urged Zacharia to reconsider whether she wanted to remain in a job that opened a door for intense media scrutiny.
“I said, ‘Katie, you know you don’t have to do this if you don’t want,’” Trump told reporters, recounting their conversation. “She said, ‘This is a lot tougher.’ I said, ‘Welcome to the world of Trump.’”
Zacharia was in the center of criticism after her first press briefing on Tuesday, which lasted just 14 minutes. While briefing, much of the time, she read from prepared notes awkwardly and took questions from three conservative media outlets.
She, however, later defended her first press meet during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity, “What I feel is I really stepped up to the plate to do the press conference, Sean, with very little prep time.”
Zacharia, who portrays herself as a lawyer, was in the mud for her legal credentials. Despite the fact that she had failed the California bar exam and had not retaken it.
