Florida Plane Crash: Co-pilot of Learjet Nathalia Filgueiras texted boyfriend moments before fatal crash in Florida

Chilling details have emerged linked to the plane crash in Florida, which claimed the lives of nine people onboard, including 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. She was the one who made the final radio transmissions before the Learjet nosedived and fell on the ground in Palm Beach County on Sunday afternoon (November 1, 2026).

Speaking to The New York Post, the family of the young co-pilot said that she texted her fellow pilot boyfriend to tell him that she was experiencing turbulence. The jet crashed just a few moments after the communication.

Filgueiras was in touch with her loved ones and alsso with air traffic control up until the moment the plane crashed. “She texted her boyfriend, I think, at 12:40 p.m., and the accident was at 12:50 p.m," Filgueiras’ stepfather, Thiago Corteleti, 44, told The Post from his home in Florida. “She just said, ‘I’ve got turbulence, I’ve got ice,'” he added.

Among the nine people killed was tech entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife, Helen Sharp, and two young children. According to TMZ, the plane crash victims were on their way to the Bahamas to celebrate Adam's birthday.

Jeff Gregory, the pilot of the plane, was apparently heard reciting the Lord’s Prayer in the disturbing audio of their final seconds as Filgueiras screams about them plummeting to their deaths.

National Transportation Safety Board member Tom Chapman said that the jet took off from Austin, Texas. It had been in the air for almost 2 hours and 45 minutes before crashing in Florida.

What we know about Filgueiras

Filgueiras, who grew up in Palm Beach County, made waves in the past when she got her private pilot’s license at just 17. She caught the attention of the local media for this personal achievement. At the time, she did even have her driver’s license.

She had earned her pilot’s license at West Boca Raton Community High School in Florida, news agency AP reported, citing local news reports at the time. At the age of 20, she already had some 1,300 hours of flying experience, her family said. According to The Post, Filgueiras often flew with her boyfriend and shared pictures and videos showing the couple in the sky.

Her pilot’s license showed she had the rating to fly that model of Learjet but not to be in command of the flight, AP reported. The jet is one of the most popular business jets ever made.
