A newly released report by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee has revisited allegations that Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein sexually abused a 13-year-old girl in 1994, citing FBI records that reportedly document the accusations made under the pseudonym Katie Johnson.

The October 26 report, titled “We Have Certain Things in Common, Jeffrey”: The Case Against Donald Trump Emerging in the Epstein Files and DOJ’s Desperate Efforts to Cover it Up, examines allegations involving 11 women and girls. The committee’s Democratic staff argues that the records raise questions about potential crimes and the handling of evidence by federal authorities. The report is not a court ruling establishing the allegations as fact.

What did Katie Johnson allege?

Johnson filed a lawsuit in April 2016 alleging that Trump and Epstein raped and sexually assaulted her at parties in New York when she was 13. She claimed she was pressured into sexual acts and that the two men assaulted her on multiple occasions.

According to the committee report, Johnson’s account described a series of encounters at Epstein’s parties. During the first alleged encounter, she said she was asked to strip to her underwear and massage Epstein. The FBI complaint form excerpt reproduced in the report states that she was subsequently instructed to massage Trump’s private parts and was told this was necessary to obtain a job.

At another party, the document alleges, Johnson was asked to perform sexual acts on Trump. Later, she said she was made to perform the same act on Trump alongside another young girl.

Court documents from the April 26, 2016 case further state an alleged fourth encounter in which Trump raped Johnson. According to the account, Epstein became angry because Trump had allegedly raped her. The document further alleges that Johnson struggled and was struck by both men.

The excerpt says the men threatened her to prevent her from reporting the alleged abuse. One purported threat recorded in the form reads: “We’ll make you disappear like—”. The report presents these details as allegations recorded in the FBI material, not as findings established by investigators or a court.

It also says an FBI case agent searched agency records and found a case number linking Trump and Epstein in an investigation concerning the “exploitation of minors.” The committee report alleges that some documents associated with that case number have not been provided to Congress or the public. The report does not establish why those documents were withheld or independently prove the alleged assaults occurred.

What happened to the lawsuit?

Johnson’s allegations had surfaced publicly in 2016, when civil lawsuits were filed under the name Katie Johnson. The claims were denied by Trump, whose lawyer described them at the time as “a complete fabrication,” according to The Guardian.

The New York lawsuit was voluntarily dismissed in November 2016, while an earlier California case was dismissed after legal deficiencies in the complaint. Neither case resulted in a court finding that the alleged assaults occurred.
