‘I see Nikos every… He loves me. Honey, I spent Christmas with him’: Kimberly Guilfoyle ties with Greek tycoon, $100,000 donor claim, luxury trips may force Trump to fire her as Greece Ambassador
Amid swirling allegations of misconduct, Kimberly Guilfoyle's role as the US ambassador to Greece hangs in the balance. Sources suggest that President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are weighing her dismissal as new revelations em...

On October 11, the Associated Press revealed that President Donald Trump and his Secretary of State Marco Rubio were considering firing Guilfoyle amid claims of misconduct prior to and during her time in Athens. The claim, made by a senior US official to AP, said that the two were “extremely pissed off.” They are expected to make a decision soon after Columbus Day, which fell on October 12.
$100,000 donor allegation puts Guilfoyle under scrutiny
The controversy intensified on October 7, when The Wall Street Journal published text messages that it said showed Guilfoyle asking Trump donor Eric Deters to pay a $100,000 American Express bill shortly before her Senate confirmation hearing in July 2025.
According to the Journal, Guilfoyle wrote: “It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express.” In another message, she reportedly pleaded: “Honey please I need you to get this done for me today.”
The Journal reported that Deters had been seeking Guilfoyle’s help in bringing personal tax and legal matters to the attention of senior administration officials. Deters said he did not make the payment. He later told CBS News there was “no doubt it was pay to play.” All the reported allegations are disputed claims and do not prove any wrongdoing.
Davos recording and luxury travel raise further questions
A second Journal report described an audio recording from the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026. According to the outlet, Guilfoyle discussed close relationships with Greek businessmen while trying to secure an invitation to a dinner featuring Eric Trump.
“You know, I can deliver the world to you. Which you deserve,” she said in the recording, according to the Journal. The newspaper reported that she had flown to Davos on a private jet with Alexandros Exarchou, chief executive of Greek construction and energy company Aktor Group.
The Journal also reported that Guilfoyle traveled to Paris with shipping executive Nikolas Tsakos and that Tsakos paid for her stay at the Four Seasons Hotel George V.
“I see Nikos every f—ing day,” she said in the recording. “I’m flying with him to Paris. I’m with him for a f—ing week.… He loves me. Honey, I spent Christmas with him. New Years. OK? Gstaad. Like, everywhere,” read her statement according to the Journal.
Questions about Greek business ties predate the latest reports
It also reported that Christos Marafatsos, a registered lobbyist for Aktor, accompanied her to meetings with officials in the region.
Aktor’s lawyers said the company was not improperly promoted by Guilfoyle and that its involvement in the energy project predated her contacts with the ambassador. Guilfoyle’s lawyer said her official meetings were coordinated through embassy channels.
Trump responded to the earlier reporting according to CNN: “I just heard about it. It’s too bad,” adding that Guilfoyle had “always been very nice.” Vice President JD Vance urged caution, saying: “These are accusations. Let’s see what the truth is.”
