First responders work after a Learjet 60 believed to be carrying nine people crashed in a residential area in Palm Beach County, Florida, US, November 1, 2026.

A horrific vehicle dash cam video that captured a deadly jet crash in southern Florida on Sunday afternoon (November 1) has emerged. The video, which is being circulated on social media platforms, shows the private plane, a Learjet 60, nosediving into the ground before exploding into a massive fireball. The plane narrowly missed homes in the area and caused a deep crater in the road, according to photos and footage from the scene. All nine occupants of the jet have died in the crash, marking the second deadliest aviation incident in the United States this year, according to records from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).

'Going to crash into the ground'

The private jet, which is estimated to be worth more than $2 million, was en route from the Austin-Bergstrom international airport in Texas to the North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas, when it fell into the Greenacres mobile home community. Greenacres is a community known for modular and mobile homes just outside Palm Springs, Florida.

According to air traffic control audio captured by LiveATC.net, the pilot had said the plane was rapidly descending. "We’re descending 8,000 — mayday, mayday — we’re descending 10,000 feet per minute. We are in an overspeed condition, descending 20,000 feet per minute."

"We’re going to crash into the ground," the pilot added.

In a statement, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said the crashed plane had "looked like a missile going down". The crash occurred less than 10 miles from President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach County.

FAA launches investigation

The Learjet 60 plane was registered to a private business based in Wilmington, Delaware. Officials have not yet identified the people who died in the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the NTSB will investigate the incident.

The crash marks the second deadliest in the US this year. In June, a skydiving plane had crashed in Butler city of Missouri, killing a dozen people.

The incident also marks the deadliest crash involving a Learjet 60, according to data from the Flight Safety Foundation. In 2008, four persons were killed after a Los Angeles-bound Learjet 60 crashed on takeoff from Columbia in South Carolina.
