California man arrested for killing 30-year-old wife, allegedly burning her body and framing an ICE detention story to conceal the crime
On September 30, Jasmine Gill, a dedicated registered nurse and caring mother, mysteriously vanished from her home in Sacramento. Following troubling inconsistencies in her husband Gurinder Gill’s statements, he was arrested and charged with her m...

Gurinder Gill was arrested by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office on October 16, 2026.
Jasmine Gill was last seen in her Sacramento home on September 30. She was reported missing by her cousin on October 4, when unidentified human remains had already been discovered in El Dorado County on October 1.
Jewelry found with the body assisted in identifying Jasmine, an official of the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office told KCRA. This finding connected the missing person investigation with the body found several dozens of miles from Jasmine’s home.

Investigators also found inconsistencies in Gurinder’s statement regarding the disappearance of his wife. It also came to the notice of the authorities that the couple was going through divorce proceedings.
Who was Jasmine Gill?
Beyond the investigation, Jasmine’s family is mourning a woman remembered for her work in healthcare and her role as a mother to an eight-month-old son. According to a family Gofundme campaign, she followed her mother’s example by becoming a registered nurse. Her mother had raised her in India after Jasmine lost her father at a young age.
The fundraiser says Jasmine was seeking a divorce and hoping to build a safer future for herself and her baby. It also seeks financial assistance for funeral expenses and the family’s needs following her death.
Speaking to KCRA, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Sgt. Edward Igoe described the case as an “absolutely unfortunate worst-case scenario event.” He urged people experiencing abusive relationships to contact authorities for help.
