The jet did a steep nosedive, leaving behind a crater and a wide debris field as rain pounded the area. According to AP, around 600 residents living nearby remained displaced, but only one injury was reported on the ground.
The Learjet 60 had departed Austin, Texas, and was headed to North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the deadly crash.
