When Will Pitch Black Launch?

Pitch Black will initially have an exclusive launch via Booker in October 2026, before getting a national rollout in November 2026.

The product is 500ml price-marked packs (PMPs), sold in cases of 12.

David Laidler, brand director for carbonates at Carlsberg Britvic, said Mountain Dew's sales have been growing by over 11.5% year on year.

“Mountain Dew is flying, with sales up over 11.5% year on year.

“Our bold new Pitch Black flavour innovation offers customers an opportunity to build on that momentum.

“With its bold taste, striking dark liquid and stand-out pack, it’s sure to grab shoppers’ attention.

“We’re confident Pitch Black will deliver strong sales by exciting fans, while bringing new consumers into the Mountain Dew brand.”

Laidler explained Pitch Black as an opportunity to build on the brand's latest sales momentum.

What Will the Packaging Look Like?

Pitch Black is being featured with a dark purple liquid and space-inspired packaging. The combination is intended to offer the product a unique visual identity within the Mountain Dew range.

The product will be sold in 500ml price-marked packs, with 12 bottles included in every case.

Support for Independent Retailers

Carlsberg Britvic will offer point-of-sale materials to independent retailers via At Your Convenience platform.

The available materials will have a full barker, A4 poster, window vinyl and a strut-cut featuring a bottle cut-out.

Digital promotional materials will also be available. These include a static till screen along with posts created for Facebook and Instagram.

A New Addition to the U.K. Range

Pitch Black represents Mountain Dew's latest U.K. range expansion, which includes a citrus grape flavor with a dark purple appearance and space-themed presentation.

With the initial Booker launch set for October and the wider rollout planned for November 2026, the new drink is set to become another choice for Mountain Dew customers in the U.K.
