WHY WAS DRE KIRKPATRICK JR. ARRESTED AND DISMISSED FROM ALABAMA?
According to AL.com, Kirkpatrick faces misdemeanor charges of harassing communications and doxxing after University of Alabama police officer Christopher Fuerch reported receiving an abusive Facebook message on October 20. The officer reportedly became concerned because he had previously encountered Kirkpatrick during an attempted traffic stop in November 2025.
Court documents cited by AL.com revealed that Fuerch subsequently visited Kirkpatrick's Facebook profile to block him. However, he allegedly discovered a photograph showing himself, his wife and their two children.
The photograph carried the caption, "Dis him?"
Following Kirkpatrick's arrest, Alabama initially suspended him for Saturday's game against Texas A&M. However, DeBoer subsequently announced his dismissal.
"After gathering more information on the situation, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. will no longer be a part of our program," DeBoer said in a statement.
"He did not live up to the standards and expectations that I have set for this team and our players."
WHO IS DRE KIRKPATRICK JR.? EXPLORING HIS CAREER AND LEGAL TROUBLES
Kirkpatrick Jr. is a 20-year-old defensive back hailing from Gadsden, Alabama, and a son of Dre Kirkpatrick Sr., an NFL cornerback. His father studied at Alabama University where he won a national championship before being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Like his father, Kirkpatrick Jr. opted to join Alabama’s football team, playing the role of a rotational defensive back. Unfortunately, the football carrier of Kirkpatrick Jr. was overshadowed by several cases.
Kirkpatrick ran into his first legal issue in November 2025 after an event in which he tried to escape from the police during a traffic stop. Kirkpatrick was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, attempting to elude police, and speeding. Kirkpatrick was then suspended for the rest of Alabama’s 2025 season and missed seven games.
Additionally, he faces a further misdemeanor charge pertaining to the alleged act of leaving the scene of an accident in June 2026. This latest arrest and subsequent release make his future in football doubtful.
