Behind NASCAR star Tyler Reddick's success on the racetrack is a woman with an equally fascinating story. His wife, Alexa DeLeon Reddick, has been by his side through championship celebrations, personal struggles and some unforgettable family moments. While Reddick has built his reputation as one of NASCAR's most recognizable drivers, Alexa has carved out her own identity through social work and environmental advocacy. But perhaps the most entertaining chapter of their relationship involves a playful bet over their eldest son's name, which Reddick won in spectacular fashion by claiming a NASCAR championship.

WHO IS ALEXA DELEON? INSIDE HER EARLY LIFE, CAREER AND FAMILY BACKGROUND

Born on March 6, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois, Alexa DeLeon Reddick is 31 years old. She attended Bloomington High School in Illinois and grew up in a family already familiar with professional sports.

According to EssentiallySports, Alexa is the daughter of the former MLB pitcher Jose DeLeon, who had a stint playing in the MLB for 13 seasons from 1983 until 1995. His teams have included the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago White Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals, among others. He died in February 2024 at the age of 63 after battling cancer.

Interestingly, the baseball career of her father had an unexpected connection with NBA great Michael Jordan, who currently is a co-owner of the NASCAR team of Reddick, 23XI Racing. According to Heavy, DeLeon was with the Chicago White Sox when Jordan briefly pursued professional baseball in 1994. He reportedly became the first major league pitcher to throw batting practice to Jordan during that period.

Away from her sporting connections, Alexa has engaged herself in other fields such as environmental and mental health work. She has been involved with West Kent, an organization that provides mental health help for youngsters. She is also the founder of Sembration Opita, an NGO that works towards environmental education and reforestation in the Dominican Republic.

The story behind their eldest son's name is perhaps the most unusual detail about their relationship. However, when Alexa became pregnant for the first time in 2019, there was disagreement regarding the choice of the child’s name.

Alexa wanted to call their baby Ryker, whereas Tyler thought about several names and ultimately chose Beau. Rather than continue debating, Alexa offered her husband a challenge: if he won the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship, he could name their baby.

As reported by Heavy, Reddick accepted the challenge and went on to capture his second consecutive Xfinity Series championship. During his victory-lane celebrations, he proudly announced the name "Baby Beau!" Beau was born on January 18, 2020. Alexa later admitted that although Beau wasn't her original choice, she liked the name and honored their agreement.

Rookie George, the second son of the family, was born on May 25, 2025. The baby got his first name after the rookies in NASCAR, while George is Tyler’s middle name.

Rookie subsequently faced a serious medical emergency involving a kidney tumor and underwent surgery in October 2025. The family later shared encouraging updates about his recovery.

Through racing triumphs, parenthood and difficult personal moments, Alexa has remained an important presence in Reddick's life.
