WATCH: Tyler Herro tires pulling down Anthony Edwards’ shorts in Bucks debut

The Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, October 5, hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves for a preseason game. During the game Bucks’ Tyler Herro targeted Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards by pulling at his shorts, aiming to defensively slow him down. The act was caught on the NBA cameras and was soon all over social media.

Herro was making his Milwaukee debut during the game. A video showed Herro running behind Timberwolves’ Edwards, as he chased his man around the court. At one point he reached out with both hands and grabbed at Edwards’ shorts, trying to pull them down.

Herro’s move, an attempt at stopping Edwards, one of the best scorers in the league, from getting the offensive advantage was criticised on social media.


Officials did not assess a technical foul during the play, while Edwards laughed off the attempt.

Tyler Herro’s Bucks Debut

The 26-year-old guard, Tyler Herro, who is a Milwaukee-area native was acquired by his hometown Milwaukee Bucks in July as part of a trade that saw two-time MVP and nine-time All-NBA forwards Giannis Antetokounmpo going to the Miami Heat.

He made his debut for the Bucks’ in the preseason game. Herro, who has averaged 20 points each game in the NBA for nearly five years now, finished the game with 11 points. These included three rebounds, four turnovers and three assists.

The Bucks will play their regular-season home opener against the Chicago Bulls on October 23. They are only scheduled to play for nationally televised games this season, with two being against the Miami Heat.

Following the Bulls, the Milwaukee Bucks will play against the Heat in Miami on November 18 and then host them on January 28.

Terry Herro’s earlier controversies

Herro was reportedly involved in a brief verbal and physical altercation with his former teammate and Miami Heat captain, Bam Adebayo at a practice facility for the NBA’s Summer League in Las Vegas in July this year.

Several fans mocked Herro over the altercation over being responsible for it.

Timberwolves beat the Bucks in NBA preseason

The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Milwaukee Bucks 116-97 at the Fiserv Forum. The Timberwolves controlled the game for 48:14 for 48 minutes and later posted a 35-20 in the fourth quarter to take the game.

Minnesota scored 31-29, 29-28, 21-29, 35-20 to answer the Bucks’ third-quarter push. They won the field goal battle 40 of 87 at 46 percent, while Milwaukee finished 30 of 91 at 33 percent.

The Timberwolves set the tone from the beginning after shooting 47 percent in the first-quarter, taking a 31-20 lead, while the Bucks shot 21 percent in the quarter.

Who is Anthony Edwards?

Anthony Edwards, nicknamed ‘Ant-Man’, plays as a shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has been selected as an NBA All-Star four times, and has been named to the All-NBA team Twice.

Edwards, who scores nearly 29 points on average each game, and finished the preseason game with 14 points, four rebounds, two turnovers and two assists.

He seemed to find the incident funny, as Herro did not succeed in pulling his shorts down. Other NBA stars like Luka Doncic or LeBron James are known to take offense to such incidents as defenders often target them with unethical tactics.
