The former Ravens kicker spent the last season without a team after Baltimore released him in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations against him. He had spent 13 seasons with the team, winning a Super Bowl, and was an All-Pro 8 times.
Sixteen massage therapists from eight high-end spa and wellness centers in the Baltimore area had accused Tucker of sexual misconduct, with the alleged offenses taking place between 2012 and 2016. The NFL suspended him for 10 weeks of the 2025-26 season, and he didn’t even appeal the decision.
Following his suspension, he tried out with the Saints and Colts, and worked out with the Jets, but neither of them signed him.
The Chiefs' decision to sign Tucker to their practice squad has raised questions about the franchise's recruitment policies and its willingness to accept morally and legally questionable behaviour. Following his signing, Head Coach Andy Reid faced a barrage of questions from local media about the team’s decision.

Reporters questioned how the move could affect the Chiefs’ female fans in Kansas, what role the team’s ownership played in the decision, and whether Tucker’s struggles during his final season with the Ravens raised concerns.
“He’s done his suspension, took care of that business there, but I’ll leave it at that for you. We try to do our homework the best way possibly can and talk to a lot of people, make sure things are okay. He did really well, did a nice job”
They asked how the signing might affect current kicker Harrison Butker, why Reid continues to afford players second chances and what impact Tucker’s arrival could have on the locker room. What did Reid have to say about it?
“Harrison, I’ve told you before, is one of my favorite guys, and sometimes things don’t go quite the way you want them, and you work on that. He understands the business and how it works. I try to do my homework on it and see exactly what’s taking place. The kid served his suspension. There’s been time involved. That’s how I value it. I’ve got a good locker room. They get it. I don’t have a lot of secrets with the guys. I keep trying to be honest with them and normally that has worked out for a couple of years”.

Fans take shots at the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid
Fans were quick to voice their disappointment with the Chiefs decision to sign Tucker with many resorting to personal attacks against Reid. They questioned his judgement and even his parenting, criticizing his willingness to give second chances to players whose past behavior had raised concerns about their character. Fans also argued that signing players with history of sexual misconduct alienate the female supporters, particularly as the NFL continues its efforts to attract more women in the sport. Fans wrote,“I’m a Chiefs fan but this signing disgusts me”.
Another said,” Not surprised considering he failed to raise his own boys. Piece of shit dad picking shit players. Fork found in the kitchen.
Someone pointed out,” Andy reid has a long history of not caring about low character players, low morals coach, no one ever talks about it
A user commented, Their special teams unit consist of twoliteral sex criminals and Harrison “ back in the kitchen” Butker”.
A fan stated,” Great move by the Chiefs as the league tries to bring in more female fans”.
Others wrote,” Lmao, he really said he don’t give a f*ck”.
Justin Tucker hasn’t played for over a year. In his last season, he made 60 of 62 extra points but only 22 of 30 field goal attempts. Given his lack of playing time, poor last season, and poor moral character, it’s hard not to see why fans despise this signing.
