The three wrestlers traded control throughout the bout. Morgan however went on to win the title at the Smoothie King Centre in New Orleans. She ultimately won the triple threat match by hitting Oblivion on Vaquer for the three-count.
The Oblivion is Morgan’s signature move. It is a springboard flatliner, where Morgan bounces off the rope or goes over the top rope. She then wraps her arms or legs around the opponent and drives them face-first into the canvas.
Earlier she explained the origin of the move, saying “I wanted something that I can hit on everyone no matter what and kind of like out of nowhere.” She added that the move originated while she was practicing in the Performance Center and did the Oblivion for the first time. She recalled that someone who was watching asked her what it was and said it looked “really, really, really great”.
How did Liv Morgan win the title?
Vaquer entered the Money in the Bank as the former world champion and started by controlling the match, aiming to retain her title. Vaquer and Lynch were competitive with each other, but arrived at the same page on Morgan. They initially worked together to take out Morgan.
Vaquer at one point came close to doing so. She hit Morgan with the Vaquer Inferno from the top rope. Lynch however, prevented the pin by pulling referee Jessika Carr out of the ring before the three-count. This led to another fight between Vaquer and Lynch at the ringside.
Vaquer headbutted Lynch, who was on the ring apron. She then kicked her onto a table on the floor below. Earlier in the match, Lynch had herself introduced the table that later became part of the finish. Vaquer hit Lynch with a meteora in the corner and later superkicked her onto the table.
The table did not break, but the move eliminated Lynch, leaving Vaquer and Morgan in the ring.
Vaquer had won the title from Morgan
After losing the title to Morgan at WrestleMania 42 in April, Vaquer won it back at a live event. The untelevised event took place in Vaquer’s home country, Chile on September 12, 2026. Lynch had played a big role in that match as a special guest referee.
During that match, Lynch at one point refused to count for Morgan leading to Vaquer’s victory. Morgan had lobbied for a rematch based on Lynch’s conduct during the bout.
