Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka is one of the highest paid female athletes in the world. She ranked at number 8 on the Forbes list for the stat in 2025 after earning $12.5 million during the year, with $10 million of it from off the field.

In 2021, she set a record for being the highest paid female athlete in the world after getting $60 million in one year. But she fell short by just $1 million the following year. Her earnings come from a trove of endorsements she signed after winning the Grand Slam twice in a row in 2021 and 2022.

She was born in Japan’s Osaka, however her family moved to New York when she was young. She started her tennis practice in the city. The player has spent her wealth in creating a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio.

Osaka bought a $6.9 million home from Nick Jonas

Osaka in 2019 reached the top of the ranking in the Women’s Tennis Association after winning the Australian Open. In the same year she made one of her first-ever big real estate purchases in Los Angeles. She was just 21 when she bought a midcentury home in Beverly Hills from famed musician Nick Jonas paying him close to $6.9 million. He had only purchased the property a year prior to selling it to Osaka.

The 4,100 square feet house was first built in 1965 and later renovated with a modern outlook in 2015. The house had five bedrooms along with four and a half baths. It also features glass walls that can slide open to take the occupants inside and outside as they please for a seamless experience.

The house has oak wood detailing and floor to ceiling windows. The primary bedroom comes with outdoor access and a huge soaking tub. According to Elle Decor, another highlight of the property is its floating guest house. The guest house is situated on a cliff, giving an impression that it floats in the air with nothing below it. Osaka later sold the house to a tech entrepreneur in August 2022. She made $8.7 million in the off-market transaction, according to Elle Decor.

Osaka bought another celebrity property in LA, this time from Love Is Blind hosts

According to Architectural Digest, Naomi Osaka bought a mansion in Los Angeles’ Tarzana neighborhood shortly after she sold the previous home. She purchased the mansion from Love Is Blind hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey and paid them $6.3 million.

The over 6,800 square feet mansion was built in 2014 and has five bedrooms and six full bathrooms along with three and a half baths. The mansion also features foldaway-glass doors similar to her first property. It has large outdoor spaces, a pool and even a sunken tennis court, according to Elle Decor.

Osaka made significant redevelopments to the property, she added a sauna and a separate gym and recovery centre. She later sold the property back to the Lachey couple in 2025 and made a $1.6 million profit. The couple moved back to LA after Vanessa’s show was cancelled after three seasons.

One of these included an apartment in the 33-storey building named Olympia in Dumbo. The building has several architectural highlights including the wave-like shape. The building also features both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. According to Architectural Digest, an apartment could have cost her about $6.75 million. However, it is unclear if she purchased a unit in the building.

In 2021, Osaka renovated five Tennis courts in Queens’ Jamaica. She did so as a way to give back to the city where she learnt how to play tennis. In an interview with the New York Times she said, “As a traveling athlete, the place that always feels like home is Queens and these courts.”

Osaka also spends a chunk of her fortune on luxury cars, including a Super Silver 2018 Nissan GT-R which she purchased in 2018. She purchased the super car after becoming the global brand ambassador for Nissan. Only 50 of these special edition cars were ever produced.

Naomi Osaka is known not only for her tennis skills but also for her fashion choice, a lot of which she showcases on the court. In line with this, Osaka launched a luxury accessories brand in August 2026, adding to her revenue.
