Former NFL player Antonio Brown grabbed fans’ attention after sharing a video allegedly mocking Bruce Arians. The video appears to show Brown urinating on his Super Bowl ring. Arians is the former coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where Brown played under him.

The 38-year-old called out former head coach Arians in the social media post and also tagged the NFL account. The former wide receiver won the Super Bowl LV while playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This comes a day after Bruce Arians’ comments about Brown. Arians, on the ‘Not Just Football’ podcast discussed Brown’s abrupt exit from a game in 2022. The incident had sparked controversy and led to Brown’s release from the Buccaneers.

What did Arians say about Brown?

During his appearance on the podcast Arians took partial blame for Brown’s exit in the 2022 game, saying “That’s probably my fault”. The former Buccaneers head coach and current consultant said that he told Brown to “get out” during the game, and he took it literally.

Recalling the incident Arians said, “Mike (Evans) got hurt, Chris (Godwin) got hurt…I thought we’d tear the Jets up. They double-teamed him (Godwim) the whole time”. “So, Gronk (Rob Gronkowski ) was getting balls in the middle and he (Antonio Brown) got upset at halftime,” Arians added. He added that Brown said he would not go back if he didn’t get the ball, following which Arians told him to get out.

Arians further said, “I love AB (Brown) to death…Nobody works harder on the practice field than him, nobody plays harder.” He added, “It’s just, sometimes, he gets in his own way.”

What happened during the 2022 incident?

The former Bucs receiver had abruptly walked off the field midgame on January 2, 2022. The Buccaneers had been playing against the New York Jets in Week 17 of the 2021 season.

Brown took off his jersey, shoulder pads and helmet and strutted off the field while gesturing towards the fans. In the post-match press conference, Arians told reporters that Brown was no longer a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster. Tom Brady also noted that Brown wouldn’t return to the team.

The incident marked the end of Brown’s career not only with the Buccaneers, but also with the NFL as a whole.

Days after the incident, Brown alleged that Arians and the Bucs had covered up his injuries and asked him to play. He said this was the reason he left the game in protest. He later claimed to have had a surgery after the Buccaneers released him. Brown went on to announce his retirement from the NFL the following year in 2023.

How did fans react to Brown’s video?

Fans reacted to Brown’s post which came after renewed tension between him and Arians. “This brain will be the end for football,” one fan commented. Referring to former NFL linebacker Vontaze Burfict’s infamous tackle on Brown, another fan said, “Vontaze really messed you up”.

Another fan asked Brown to “delete social media and get some help”, while one suggested that Brown would never make the Hall of Fame. “A lot of guys wish they had a Super Bowl ring, and this is how you treat it,” an NFL fan said.

Meanwhile, Brown’s legal case had also been in the news. He was set to plead no contest to an aggravated assault case and avoid prison. The case stems from a May 2025 shooting after a celebrity boxing event in Miami.
