How did this Mansion became the set for Selena + Chef?

One of the most popular features of the house is the kitchen, where Gomez filmed the first three seasons of her cooking series, Selena + Chef. The show premiered on HBO Max in August 2020, months after Gomez purchased the house. Over the course of the series, Gomez learned recipes from visiting chefs, and the episodes followed her attempts to cook those recipes, with the actor often having to address errors and issues that arose during filming.

The kitchen, which includes marble islands, whitewashed brick walls and copper range hood, is one spacious room with a brick archway framing the kitchen area. Production moved to a Malibu beach house for Season 4, which debuted in 2022. Gomez and the production team moved out of the Encino kitchen when Season 4 began.
