Josh Brolin bought his Atlanta mansion for $3.25 million in 2020; 6 years later, he sold the 7,700-square-foot home for $4 million after a price cut

American actor Josh Brolin has sold his Atlanta-area mansion for $4 million after the property returned to the market with a lower asking price.

Brolin and his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin, bought the Sandy Springs, Georgia, home for $3.25 million in 2020. According to Realtor.com, the property was initially listed for $4.999 million before the asking price was reduced to $4.75 million. It eventually sold for $4 million.

TMZ reported that the sale closed on Wednesday, with a buyer paying $4 million for the property. The buyer is not another celebrity, according to a real estate source who spoke to TMZ. Mansion Global also reported that Brolin had found a buyer and that the sale closed for $4 million.


The 7,700-square-foot property sits on a gated 1.48-acre lot in Sandy Springs, outside Atlanta, according to Realtor.com.

The property had also been offered as a rental. Realtor.com reported that it was listed for $35,000 a month, first in March 2024 and again in February 2026.

Josh Brolin’s Atlanta home was listed for nearly $5 million

The mansion initially hit the market on April 17 for $4.999 million, according to Realtor.com. The listing was removed three days later and returned on June 8 for $4.75 million after a $249,000 price reduction.

The final sale price was therefore nearly $1 million below the original asking price.

Jacob Bean of Studio Housing Atlanta held the listing, according to TMZ.

Inside Josh Brolin’s Sandy Springs mansion

Realtor.com reported that Pierce and Ward designed the home's interior with a traditional, baronial-style look.

The entrance has 10-foot ceilings, striped wallpaper, crown molding and large arched doorways. The house also includes a formal dining room, sitting room and family room with built-ins and a large fireplace.

The open kitchen features lantern fixtures, exposed wood beams, a breakfast nook, seating area and pantry. There are also laundry and office areas. The primary suite is on the ground floor and has cathedral ceilings, green wallpaper, dual vanities and a soaking tub.

The basement includes a home theater, gym, den and a bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Upstairs, there are three more bedrooms and two sitting areas. The two-level guesthouse has additional bedrooms and a second kitchen.

The property also has several recreational features. TMZ reported that the home includes a screened-in rotunda with a grill, fireplace and lounge area, along with a professional-grade gym, sauna and cold plunge. There is also a home cinema and a detached two-story guesthouse.

Outside, the property has a heated pool, hot tub and two waterfalls, as well as a rock for jumping, according to TMZ. Mansion Global described the swimming pool as grotto-like and noted the waterfall.

Realtor.com described the backyard as having a lagoon-style pool and landscaped grounds.

Josh Brolin has moved back to California

TMZ reported that Brolin moved back to California and had been renting out the Georgia home. The publication added that its real estate sources believed the move was production-related. That explanation is attributed to those sources and was not presented as a confirmed statement from Brolin.

Realtor.com also reported that Brolin and his wife purchased a $7.1 million farmhouse in Santa Barbara in February 2024.
