In 2020, Nick and Vanessa Lachey paid $5.1 million for a LA home; after selling it to Naomi Osaka, they bought it back for $7.95 million
Nick and Vanessa Lachey have bought back their former Tarzana home for $7.95 million, years after selling it to tennis star Naomi Osaka. They paid nearly $5 million in 2020, then sold it for $6.3 million in 2022. Osaka owned the five-bedroom prope...

The couple knows the place well. They first bought it in 2020 for about $5 million, so they are now paying nearly $3 million more than they did the first time. When they sold it to Osaka in 2022, the price was $6.3 million. This time they paid $1.65 million more than she did, about a 26 percent jump.
That figure only compares the two sale prices. It doesn’t account for inflation, renovation costs or closing fees.
What changed while Naomi Osaka owned the property?
The house is a Cape Cod-style home built in 2014 and sits on about half an acre. Osaka owned it for roughly three years and made some updates, including adding a separate gym. The reported numbers don’t show how much those changes added to the price. The Lacheys originally sold the house because of work. Vanessa was filming NCIS: Hawai’i, and the family moved to Hawaii for it. After the show was canceled last year, following three seasons, they sold their Honolulu home and moved back to California.
They didn’t go straight back to Tarzana. First they bought a farmhouse in Encino for $6.8 million and listed it after about a year, according to earlier reports. They are still trying to sell it. The Tarzana house cost $1.15 million more than the Encino one.
